I think you folks are over reacting to Tate's play today. He has a nice drive, a 3, a couple of assists and a couple To's too. He is going to play because of defense. I guarantee Lucas isn't there yet.

Maybe it's just the competition and not trying much against them but Malcolm hasn't looked good in either game so far. I think he just isn't really trying against these teams.

I was thinking the same thing about Hill

He won't play long in a real game if he makes 2 terrible turnovers in a row...but yes, his subsequent plays were nice to see from him

And there goes Hill making another dumb decision at the end of a half. I'm starting to think we don't want the ball in his hands at the end.

I think the ball go to Tracy to make the play. Whether he passes or shoots. I mean he is the guy we went to last time he was healthy.

He was completely out of control on a few fastbreaks already, not counting him out for the season, but it is not unreasonable to expect a senior pg to be able to run the break in transition.

I think Hill is purposely deferring right now to let others get involved and gain experience

I tend to roll my eyes just a little when Groce talks about "energy and effort" but we're playing with a lot more of it tonight. Step in the right direction so far, although the offense is still a little chaotic for my liking.

I agree, not fluid at all. However, we are converting on a lot of shots. That makes me optimistic that with some more practice we can put together a solid offense in the big ten. This is all assuming Groce has an offense to run of course :D

Well here's the chance to work on the "dog" mentality.

Win the half by 10+, stay healthy, and Illini fans should be feeling good heading into the opener.

Thanks to everyone commenting tonight. I am depending on you for what is happening. I will be watching the replay on BTN on Sunday. So, I just went to both si.com and espn.com, and they both tell me there are no college bbal games being played tonight. Therefore no scores. What am I missing?

If you have a twitter, Jeremy Werner tweets pretty much every play
