I loved the energy, effort, and intensity we came out with against EIU. Kansas is going to be tough though as they are a major step up with a lot of returning talent at the skill positions. The key to the game will likely be how well we're able to run the ball and test them over the middle. Would love to see a long 1st drive down the field with consistent 4-5yd runs and hot routes. Force Kansas to start creeping up into the box and then in later drives make them pay. On defense, our DTs played terrific against EIU and we had great run defense. We're really going to need them to have a phenomenal game tonight, and we're also going to need pressure as doing so will allow Bailey to creep up and provide run support and help shut things down within 10yds of the line of scrimmage. We cannot allow Daniels time to both find lanes and attack our corners as coverage was definitely questionable at times against EIU. I am hopeful but a lifetime of being an Illini fan has me concerned.
