Malcolm had a tough half and they still have the lead. I'll take that. Love that high-low with the big guys. Reminded me of the Bill Self days.

That was an awesome half of basketball. One of our best halves of the year, despite our best player having one of his worst.

Roger that. If MH can calm down and let the game come to him, we just might pull this off. Need to get MM involved again. Get somebody inside Jok's shirt and deny him the ball.

I was very impressed with our offensive execution for the most part. I thought our energy on defense was also pretty solid.
The two things that are still killing us:
1) Boxing out
2) Occasional hero ball

Clean those two things up and keep doing what we were doing, we might actually win!

Jok + Uthoff have 30 points.
Hill + Nunn have 12 points.

And were are up at half. I think everyone would take that.

That said I don't like our chance over 40 minutes if the pace stays the same and Iowa continues to shut down Hill.

Great 1st half offensively. Morgan was making Woodbury look like a little brother. Not relying on 3's for points. Gotta try to get to the foul line early in the 2nd.

Defensively you're outmatched. Gotta bring the hustle. Be better on screens.

Illini only attempted 6 3-pointers

And moved the ball, which is exactly why this was one of our best offensives halves this season. We MUST keep feeding Mav the ball. He is so underutilized.

where has that offensive flow been all season? looked great w Lewis Nunn/JCL Hill Finke Morgan. when AA and Tate went in we went back to stall ball

Jok and Uthoff scored 30 of Iowa's 35. Jok with 17. Think he had most of those in about one minute.

I remember when people would freak out when he even touched the ball...glad he has worked himself into a decent post player.

It's really amazing how much he has progressed. Mav's feel for the game has improved tremendously. Great things almost always happen when he gets the ball. And honestly, even when he isn't open, Mav is a pretty good passer.

I'm a little worried that we used up a LOT of energy that first half and will come out flat at the beginning of the second... Hope not, but wouldn't be surprised (nor would it be the first time we've come out flat to start the 2nd half).

all of this. Interesting to see if the "win or go home" situation at all effects the habit being perpetuated today.

+1. Hopefully the fact that our starters didn't play big minutes yesterday will help us.

MM was fantastic the first 10:00. Gotta feed him more. Feeling better and better about the 5 spot next season with each passing game.
