Even though we're not quite sure when his mother's birthday is. Somewhere from mid July to mid August is the best we can guess.I'll add a second: it is my general belief that his mother loves him, warts and all.
Sorry....bad link. Let's try this again. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http...h02pWGGunbUvfaPICxjfC7zm20kEjzFJQA-mVlTxloDmwOk…after reading this I don’t want candle to go to IU. Yeah, I don't get the dire with Moorhead.
His offenses at PSU were 21st & 7th in ppg.
Joe or Aaron Moorehead? Then what happened?
He turned that success into the head coaching job at Miss. State. The year before Moorhead, they had the 41st-scoring offense with Mullen. With Moorhead? It went from 41st to 68th to 74th. He was fired in two years.
He went to Oregon as their OC. The year before he took over, they had the 16th-highest scoring offense. He proceeded to make them the 42nd in both of his seasons, their worst mark since pre-Chip Kelly.
He's hired as Akron HC, who had one of the worst offenses before he was hired (119th out of 130). Since he was hired? He produced the 107th highest scoring offense in 2022 and the 131st (out of 133) scoring offense this year.
There's no spinning that resume.
Off the top of my head. Chryst, Moorehead and maybe Nate
For the right money ... I have heard Collin Klein would be available ...
Thought this was interesting regarding Bray. From an insider on the Oregon State board I visit. He may not be at the level of you and Indy as far as “insiderness,” but his info is usually pretty good. Guess Smith was originally going to bring Bray with him.He didn't really have a choice in bringing Bay with him when Bay was in line to get the HC job.

that is a great hire for them. I wonder if Chadwell from Liberty gets snatched up this cycleIndiana is hiring Curt Cignetti from James Madison.
Can't say I know anything about him beyond the season JMU had this year, but the early consensus seems to be it's a great hire.
when I look at a coaches tenure at a school, I always look what the school was like before he got there. For Cignetti at James Madison, the prior coach was 37-6, going 14-1 twice and 9-4 the year before Cignetti came in. I wouldn't be shocked if that guy gets fired this year from East Carolina. The guy before that was 18-7 over 2 years. He then went on to fail at Texas State and is now DC of Temple. So James Madison won their conference 3 of the 4 years prior to Cignetti arriving. Meaning, Cignetti didn't build anything at James Madison. He did however do a great job maintaining a strong program.I like the Cignetti hire.
Proven winner over 5 years time @ JMU.
Also was assistant at Pitt, NC State, Alabama, Rice and Temple
Been HC for 12 years.
Can't believe how much I already miss Tom Allen.
I have no big opinion about him or the hire, but I’d say taking the team/school through the transition to FBS and leading them to a 19-4 overall record since jumping levels gets him some points in my book.when I look at a coaches tenure at a school, I always look what the school was like before he got there. He did better at Elon making a big jump in wins from the prior coach, but was only there 2 years and went 8-4 then 6-5. So is that blowing me away? not really.
At Indiana University Pennsylvania, fun fact, he took over the reigns from Lou Tepper, but of note, his dad was, I assume, a legendary coach there. His dad coached IUP for 20 years, winning the conference 14 times. Tepper actually did a good job. So again, Cignetti built nothing at IUP.
So does he appear to be a good coach? Yes. He has been able to maintain success at good programs (for their level). But coming to a bottom dweller program in a top 2 conference in the nation, that is a HUGE change from what he's done so far. Based on nothing but resume, I'd say mehh.
Does it matter who coaches Indiana at this point? How often will we even play?

reality is FAR more coaches fail than succeed. It is a really difficult business, especially these days with an even more unfair playing field. I can't imagine Indiana football will be near the top of the conference in NIL. They have no real tradition to build on. They local region is highly contested with at least 1 much better program in state, and another program that is probably considered better fighting for the 2nd and 3rd tier recruits. So to succeed at Indiana, you will have to be a really good coach and have some really good coordinators. You just don’t know. Is he the next Nick Saban or a guy who just can’t get it done as a Power 5 HC. This is why Bielema is a rare find: An experienced power 5 coach who has been successful on that level and is willing to come to a non traditional power.

Indiana hasn't had a coach leave with a winning record since 1947, wow. At least their basketball program has had some good moments.
I am all for giving DC Henry another season
Defense carried this team most of the season. The offense showed up when Paddock took over. Great thing is we put points on the board for a change and moved the ball at a fast rate. Bad news is if we score all those TDs in few minute drives or shorter than the defense is going to be on the field and get tired as the game goes on. Paddock was the perfect QB to throw into action when the RB depth was depleted and needed to throw the ball around. Lack of talent or depth at the DL and Secondary caught up with us against Indiana and Northwestern. If there is heat on coordinators than the OC, DC and Special Teams all should be held accountable. It was a mix of all 3 and rarely did we play a complete game at all 3 facets.
