Last night I watched my DVR'd copy of the 2021 Field of Dreams between the Sox and Yankees.
What a team we had, only 3 years ago.

It seems like after that game things went all down hill for Tim Anderson. He wasn't the same player any more.
The same could be said for Abreu.
That settles it. Move the team to Dyersville.
And make the State of Iowa pay for a new, upgraded ball park. This will be OK with the Governor of Illinois and White Sox ownership.
Another blurb on Sox prospect at Arizona Fall League written by Chris Clegg. Not familiar with Gladney, and he’s not on Sox top 30 prospect list (MLB.com). Turns out he’s a local guy who was drafted out of Iliana Christian in 16th round by Sox in 2019.
DJ Gladney, OF, CHW, 23
Gladney is an exciting player that I have liked since I first saw him live in 2023. Built like an NFL wide receiver, Gladney stands at 6’2”/195 has has a ton of athleticism. This year between High-A and Double-A, Gladney slashed .246/.303/.450 with 16 home runs and 38 extra base hits.
The power is off the charts, and that was on display on Saturday as Gladney smoked a home run at 117.2 mph and traveled 468 feet. Two more batted balls led to a single with a 107.4 mph exit velocity and a fly out to right-center that had a 99 mph exit velocity.
Gladney is aggressive and has shown plenty of swing-and-miss and chase, but when he connects, he does damage.

White Sox have reportedly hired former major leaguer and current Rangers associate manager Will Venable as their new manager.
Will Venable: "It's exciting to be part of that process to help get back to the type of baseball White Sox fans are used to seeing... There is a rich tradition here and a fan base that deserves winning baseball...”.
Thank you sir. If you really believe this and take it to heart... then you’ve got it. There IS a rich tradition here (though universally ignored by most of the rest of the Baseball World). And there IS a great fan base that is hungry for and that richly deserves winning baseball.
We can tolerate another 100-loss season as long as Venable plants a solid foundation of culture on the Sox based on his above-recited words and the Sox roster begins to reheal itself from from years of internal rot and neglect.
And finding a new home on the South Side and soon wouldn’t be a bad idea, either.
