Now we check back in three years to see who was right. Rumor was they were trying to move up to 4 also. Would have been interesting to see who they took there.
i think they wanted both Demidov and Levshunov. Rumor has it their war room was split between those two.

Bertuzzi and Teravainen! If you squint you can start to see a team that can contend for a playoff spot this season. Will depend on the young d men.

the Hawks will be better, no doubt, but they'll still be bad. thinking top 5 in the tank race. don't see any chance of the playoffs

Weird circumstances and bad injury luck conspired to make the supporting cast around Bedard much worse than designed in Year 1, but good for Davidson in seeing the wisdom of putting real NHL skill in the forward group.

No one is helped by the team being a hopeless mess of AHL guys. Now this ship can start moving forward.

something like this:

Bertuzzi-Bedard-Teravainen
Slaggert-Nazar-Kurashev
Hall-Dickinson-Foligno
Athanasiou-Donato-Mikheyev
Reichel

much improved group, great job, Davidson. but there's still a long way to go

love the Martinez signing too. need a decent vet to pair w/KK, or send him to Rockford for seasoning

I'd be shocked to see KK in Rockford...

not me. he was over his head last season. I get it: it was between playing for the Hawks or going back to Seattle. both choices kinda sucked. that he had crap partners definitely didn't help. we'll see. I don't want the Hawks to rush the kid. being a 19 yo D man in the NHL is really, really difficult

Where is the right defenseman? Obviously still a lot of names out there but thought that would be a priority. Is Levshunov gonna get the Korchinski treatment? Throw him in the deep end and see what happens? He certain seems more physically ready than KK was last year.

on further review, I like this lineup better:

Hall - Bedard - Bertuzzi
Tevo - Nazar - Mikheyev
Reichel - Dickinson - Kurashev
Foligno - AA - Smith
Maroon/Donato

Vlasic-Jones
Korchinski-Murphy
Martinez-Kaiser

Mrzaek
new guy from Winnipeg

one last thing, they'd better leave Lev at MSU
