I think we can run effectively against them between the tackles.

Well, I've been going to games for 60 of those 100 years. Let's be real. For Purdue to score 46 points in the second half is such a let down. My wife mentioned about possibly leaving earl, and I've been to way to many games to think about that. That was a total embarrassing situation on network TV. How we are still ranked is beyond belief, and how do have a total collapse against one of the worst teams in our conference. I bet Michigan is licking their chops watching game film. How could Walters figure us out so easily, and we couldn't figure out how to make adjustments to stop the flood. Plus. It used to be fun reading the different post about games, recruiting and so on. Now, it's the same handful of posters going off on tangents, sometimes not even related to the football team. How many of our posters have season tickets are actually even go to the games?

22 y/o student ticket holder here. Been going to games with my parents as long as I can remember. Nothing builds character when you're ten like eating pulled pork at 9:00 AM when it's 40 degrees in the WDWS tailgate tent, then going into the stadium an hour and fifteen before kickoff to wander around the stadium before getting shellacked by a competent Big Ten team for three and a half hours.

My dad says that he knew mom really loved him after she stayed with him in the cold, windy, rainy stands for the 63-0 loss to Iowa in November 2018. There were eight people total in their section at the final whistle.

We have seen our share of miserable football (3 bowls in 12 years, 1 winning Big Ten record in 14 years). I’d bet most people here have poured more blood, sweat, and tears into this program than it truly deserves. But that’s the essence of being an Illini fan, and it's all of these experiences that make winning worth it.

Disappointing in that secondary last time out - no question - but we do get Scott back, and their passing game is not superb by any means. And fairly confident we won't come out looking that abysmal in this one.

IMO this comes down to two things: can we stop the run? can we contain that DL with 2 projected top 10 picks in Graham and Grant?

Check those 2 boxes, I'd be very surprised if we don't win this game.

Number got hammered pretty hard today against us, moved through the 3 to +3.5 at Circa. Pinnacle barely hanging on to the 3. Limits are still low, will be interesting to see what happens closer to kick when sharps can get down more.

Cause and effect as people start to look at this one. Like Fly believe these are the keys. We have not been able to consistently do either, although we are a bit better at pass pro. Here's hoping both lines look a LOT better than they have thus far.

The obvious counter is quick stuff to the outside, but without knowing Michigan's roster I can guess that they have the athletes to cover us sideline to sideline. Another very interesting test for Lunney.

It is not offensive game plan but the def line play. I will be at the game cheering from sec 122. Bring the orange energy in Saturday.
Unfortunately I think you might be right.

If we don't stop the run, it will be a long day. Their D Line will get in the backfield. We need to get the ball out. Not having Feagen in this game hurts. Still, we do have a shot if we play like we did at Nebraska.

I get that: GIFs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and tangents can be distracting and mildly annoying. (God knows I’m guilty.)
(But at least some tangents are inevitable btw…and for several reasons.)

I don’t understand why some people seem to have such a hard time filtering out what they don’t personally find entertaining. We once had a poster complain about tangents/GIFs that caused him to have to spend an extra “10 seconds” of unnecessary time scrolling. 10 FLIPPIN’ SECONDS!! On a free site…with free information mind you…
A little live and live?

More to the point, you aren’t actually implying that season ticket holders/regular attendees are the only people worthy of posting here are you? If you’ve been fortunate enough in life to afford to be a season ticket holder/regular attendee for 60 years…Good for you. God Bless.
We need all the fans like that we can get.
But not everyone is that fortunate.

"So Michigan having an eckel rate of 26.6% means the offense is getting a first down inside the opponents 40-yard line on only 26.6% of drives. That’s near the bottom of the FBS.

Inversely, Illinois’ defense lets opponents get a first down inside Illinois’ 40-yard line on 53.8% of drives. Which is near the bottom of all FBS football teams.

So essentially Eckel Rate is telling is Michigan can’t sustain drives while Illinois can’t stop drives. So what’s going to happen on Saturday?"

The stoppable force vs. the moveable object.

Need our offense to set the tone. Luke is as confident as ever... get some points on the board and force Michigan to keep up. I think that would get our defense playing more loose and confident. Might even cause Michigan to make some mistakes and we could open it up.

Michigan is not that good. If things click for us and the crowd is into it I could see this being a 31-13 type game.

My good omen for the week:

I play Ultimate Golf on my phone. Just finished a 9-hole tournament in which someone with GoBlue in his name was running neck and neck with me through 6 holes. I went minus 2 over last 3 holes while he/she played even golf. I finished 3rd while GoBlue finished 33rd. That has to mean close on Saturday for much of game with Illini pulling ahead late right?

Sounds more like Michigan wins by 2 on a late safety
