I don't know but tempted to hit the Pacific northwest for the games vs Oregon and Washington. What's winter like at the time and any nearby skiing worth visiting.

Winter is wet. Cold but not freezing. Except in the mountains, where it snows, sometimes prolifically. Best skiing in the world is at Mount Bachelor- a couple hours east of Eugene, on the other side of the cascades. Some ppl enjoy Mount Hood but the snow is too wet / heavy for my taste. Bachelor has better powder. But the beer in the PNW rocks. I think there are more breweries per capita in Portland than anywhere else. Pinot Noir is local and famous too.

Edit: if you drive in the mountains carry chains for your tires. No joke. We don’t use salt.

This is a brutal road schedule. All of our toughest opponents are on the road and we only get 1 shot… I thought a few would be ok, but EVERY SINGLE ONE??

The conference schedule is completely manageable, probably middle of the road. Biggest thing is that every game will be against a team that finishes below the Illini in the conference standings.

I'm assuming this is what will happen in most circumstances for teams having back to back games on either the west coast or the east coast.

Agreed. There was so much turnover in our conference we don't know who is going to be good or bad. I do know a lot of teams didn't make the turnover in talent as good as we did during the offseason.

I'd love to check out Eugene and Seattle a few days apart. Don't know if I'll be able to swing it, though. I live near sacramento, so there will definitely be more opportunities to see my Illini in person with the new teams.

Even after the conference expansion, they still found a way to avoid Monday games most weeks. I was hoping we'd have B1G basketball every day.

The writing was on the wall, but I hate the timing of all this and am sad to see TA go. He's a heck of a recruiter, great in the community, and was crucial on the stand during the TSJ trial. I genuinely wish him nothing but the best in whatever he does next. And I wouldn't mind if our paths crossed again down the line.

Kwa will fill in for now … Brad has his target for the spring when he will fill the position … It’s a name I’ve mentioned here already … They’ve already talked numbers but it was bad timing with season starting, kids just started school, wife didn’t want to uproot her life or the kids life at this time so we wait until spring … Course long time between then and now so things could change but as of now … Brad is locked in on that coach

There’s a lot to it … Lot I won’t share here …

The one thing that’s kind of leaked out that is true is that TA wanted to be compensated on an Antigua type of level … He was on the last year of his deal following an elite 8 run and he felt he deserved an extension and raise to 900k - 1 million per year …

Instead of giving him that … We gave that to Antigua …

That didn’t go over very well …

There’s other things as well but that’s what I’ll share publicly …
