I'm gonna pass on watching the redbirds for a while , at least as long as the Stanley Cup Playoffs are going on........I prefer the hitting and ACTION and scoring compared to the Cardinals snooze fest's ................................We now have good pitching and defense , but zero offense sans Contreras and Nado.................

The Cardinals have helped me sleep better as I nod off on most games lately.......I really really do..................

L will be watching the Cardinals. My wife is a rabid fan although she is throroughly disgusted right now. I like hockey: my wife not so much.

Sorry for the following rant. This is starting to remind me way too much of the dreadful post Gussie era. (And don’t get me started on the 70’s, sheesh).

There are too many fans and reporters (especially anyone on ESPN, FOX and MLB Trade Rumors) who buy into they are making the playoffs, so Mo is doing a great job. I have been a Blues fan since they came into the league. Learned the basics of hockey over the radio from Dan Kelly. (Let’s face it back then there was basically NO HOCKEY on television). Once the playoffs expanded, the Blues made it 70-75% of the time and never won anything until 2019. Now MLB has similarly expanded the playoffs and people look at it as some badge of honor that the Cards make the playoffs nearly every year. It doesn’t matter if they get bounced in the first round like the Blues did for 50 years.

Also, Mo and too many fans fall in love with players and every trade thread turns into a “Can’t trade (Gorman, Noot, Walker, Donovan, Edman, Burleson, Winn, any number of minor leaguers) thread. Sure, there are those I wouldn’t trade without getting a lot back, but I’ll admit to being willing to trade anyone if the return is good. Okay, maybe not with Mo as a GM. Oops, POBO, my bad. Though I think anyone who would blame Girsch is crazy. He doesn’t do anything without Mo’s blessing.

Again, sorry for the rant.

A friend of mine and really big StL fan has Comcast which just lost Bally Sports because of the failure to come to a contract agreement. He is really beside himself missing the games. I told him the way they are playing it's for the best. There is no way the StL offense should be as anemic as it has been since the start of the season. I see they fell back into last place. In my mind it's getting close to making a managerial change. I also heard a good story about Tony LaRussa told by Jim Edmonds on Sunday. Edmonds indicated It was after a road game and the players were headed for the clubhouse buffet. LaRussa was pissed about the effort and accused the players of not competing and was laying into them. LaRussa got so mad he went over and flipped over the buffet table and told the players, since they didn't compete on the field, they can now go compete with people for food.
