Meh. Not worried. Anything that happened prior to the 2019/2020 season might as well be ancient history. Our program is night and day since then.Maryland has owned us recently and I believe has beaten us 7 out of the last 8 games, including a couple heartbreakers.. Granted they don’t have Trimble, Cowan, or Smith anymore but they can still be dangerous. We need to be careful here and make sure we get it to Kofi as they really can’t match up with him. Playing Maryland always reminds me of the 2000 Maui game we had with them when we were both ranked in the top 10 and we beat them. That was some high level basketball.
lmao probably the best use of a gif I've seen on here (gotta love Shredder! haha) And yeah lets whoop those turtles on Thursday. GO ILLINI!View attachment 13997
Bring on the turtles.
I'm not sure if anyone on our roster has beaten more than once so it's time for some revengeMeh. Not worried. Anything that happened prior to the 2019/2020 season might as well be ancient history. Our program is night and day since then.
Winners win. Bury them.

I was just about to post that playing Maryland always worries me a bit. We haven't played well against them for some reason. Let's flip that ship. The last time we beat Maryland at home was January 7, 2015!
I'm planning an extra 15 minutes. I try to get there 10 minutes before tip-off as seats are normally right inside the door, but who knows how this will all go down. If they were smart about it, they'd have some sort of express lane for those with season tickets where you get checked and then you are good to go for the rest of the year, speeding up the process for everyone else. With the changes due to proof of vaccine/negative test what would you say would be a good time to show up to stadium?
We rarely seem to have a schedule like this. January always seemed to be set up poorly for us. This year it seems like it's really optimal for giving us a head of steam and confidence. We get OSU and Wisconsin just once and both at home.I’m a fan, not a player, so I’ll admit to getting greedy after that! Another beatdown Thursday and a long winning streak as Purdue comes to town sounds real nice….
Turgeon always seemed to have our number - we've lost 7 of the last 8. Hopefully he didn't leave it for Manning to use.The last time we beat Maryland at home was January 7, 2015!

But we don't get Minnesota again and only once (I think) against Penn State and Nebraska. Naturally, Purdue and Wisky worry me.We rarely seem to have a schedule like this. You have to beat the best to be the best. If we are who we think we are, we won't prove it by playing a weak schedule. Bring on the heat. But we don't get Minnesota again and only once (I think) against Penn State and Nebraska. Naturally, Purdue and Wisky worry me.
Agree completely, I'm much more afraid of bad losses than hard games. Maybe getting more shots at the lower tier big ten teams in a year where we're on the bubble is a positive, but a freak loss to a sub 100 team is going to do more damage to a resume than a couple losses to top 25 teams. Give me pu, wisc, msu, whoever is a top flight team twice a year. Q1 losses are borderline meaningless on selection Sunday, assuming you've got a good collection of wins. You have to beat the best to be the best.
