OT: Illinois Ticket Transfer/Receive Information

#1
As many of you already know, Illinois tickets are no longer available as paper tickets. They are online account driven type tickets only. Anyway, a season ticket holder friend of mine often hooks me up with his unused tickets when he cannot make it by handing them to me at my house in the years past. However, that is not a thing that can happen these days. All tickets must be transferred via the online accounts.

Anyway, this friend just transferred 2 tickets to me via the online accounts. I could see the tickets in my account logged in on my laptop. So that part worked ok. But my fightingillini account "forces" you to send your own tickets to a mobile device to download/view. I entered the cell phone number and done this successfully (got the link to download on my cell).

When I click on this link, though, it tries to go to the website to get the tickets and the phone web browser just spins a circle and never loads. I even tried to copy/paste the link into a different phone web browser and the same thing happens? I have reboot the phone to no avail. The phone is an iPhone 11.

I suspect it may have to do with the version of iOS I am running? But I cannot find any information on the Illinois site of what the requirements are. And maybe this is not an iOS version issue at all? What version of iOS does one need to view/get these tickets (if it even matters)?

Anybody have any idea what is going on here and what to do about it to fix it properly?

Sorry for the long wind...but I had to give enough background to allow someone to voice a fix.

Relevant thoughts?

You have to download the fighting Illini app to get tickets.

I am not sure what to tell you.. I transfer tickets every game to a family member.. When I transfer them it always just transfers via a text to my the other persons cell phone directly and not thru fightingillini.com. She then simply clicks on the text the pop up and she adds them to her apple wallet. I have never seen an option to transfer them thru the website.

I am sure though if you call the ticket office this morning after it opens, they will get it fixed.

Sorry that is all I can tell you. Have your friend send them via text next time

The app I posted and their website glitches a lot so just try again later.

Thanks for the responses.

I figured it out. I contacted the ticket office but they had nothing. No minimum requirement for iOS according to them. But they recommended updating the iOS anyway.

I updated the iOS and it worked.

The problem was it would not bring up the page that allows one to log in enough (only partially would load then spinning circle) to get the login portion. Just a weird problem. Appears fixed now. Hopefully it helps others if they have similar trouble.

And for what it is worth, you can login from the website or from the Illini APP. They both end up in the same place.

They did. It is just the text they send you gives you a link that actually just brings up the login page...same login page from the website. And this log in page would not load...no matter which direction you launched it from.

But now I got my iOS updated and logged in, it will be easy in the future. Just click on the text link (and since you were already logged in from before - assuming you did not log out) it will go straight to the tickets to then save to your wallet.
