This whole “white out vs white out energy” thing is really dumb.
Just encourage fans to wear white without calling it a white out. It’s what we did for years with Illinois basketball where virtually everyone wore orange without having a special event.
If my son’s high school can coordinate what the student section wears each game (black, white, Hawaiian, etc.), surely a Big Ten program with a massive fanbase can figure out how to get people to wear white to a football game.

We're gettin' some love over on Black Shoe Diaries. They see Saturday's night's game as a big one. Then there's this. I'll ignore that they believe they're better than Oregon, and somehow thought that UCLA was the 10th best team preseason. I like the Illini trajectory here. "Pretty pretty pretty good," as Larry would say.

I’m also curious what would be illegal. I’m guessing something with the network who gets the white out game formally and making sure no one else can market another game that way.

My only real fear is refball. Crappy Valley is famous for it.Penn State hasn’t played anyone yet. There’s no measure how good they actually are. Our guys are battle tested and battle hardened.
Beaver Stadium won’t throw anything at Illinois that Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium didn’t. Our guys weren’t rattled Friday night and they won’t be in Saturday.
Everything the experts said about Kansas, everything about Nebraska, they’ll say about Penn State. Our guys proved them wrong about those two teams. Why not Penn State?
The last time our guys were in Beaver Stadium, they came home victors. Why not again? Why not indeed?
Kudos to the PSU fan who tried it. Do what it takes! I like Coach's comments and love that coach B takes from many of the great teams around the country. But BIG fans sometimes get too caught up in mutual respect and admiration of each other. That Penn State fan's shortened video clip would be child's play in the SEC.

I haven't seen Jim Rome in many, many years! I listened to him on the local radio station in San Diego in the early-mid 1980's. He's aged a lot better than I have, lol. Is there a full clip with Luke Altmyer available somewhere? I've searched YT/Amazon/internet and I cannot find anything. Surely the segment was longer than the one Dan posted above ^^^^.

I don’t know if we’ll have enough in us to knock off a top 10 team in one of the best atmospheres in college football. However, I’ll be very surprised if we don’t come out prepared and make PSU earn it.
