Welsh of Ohio State, who he has beaten 2x in OT, will be waiting in the quarters. Cade Devos of SDSU will be the most likely semi-final. Devos is really good and was R12 guy (like Ruth) last year. He is 21-1 this year with his only loss to Griffith (MICH) in OT. I would put Ruth at a slight favorite in that match. The problem is that Ruth is wrestling everyone to a one score match and when you do that you are leaving yourself open to being upset. No one would be surprised to see him lose in the quarters either. But I'll predict a loss in the National Finals to Starocci.

Make sure you're following along next week!
Brackets came out tonight - https://www.ncaa.com/_flysystem/public-s3/images/2024/03/13/2024NCAAd1Wrestlingbrackets.pdf Pucino got the 25 seed and has a match against Lemley of Michigan who I think will AA. I see that as a loss. On the backside he will probably have Vince Cornella of Cornell, which is a winnable match. The next one after that would potentially be the 7 or 10 seed. So barring any upsets I see him going 0-2 or 1-2. Moore got the 28 seed and has a match with Hamiti of Wisconsin. That's a loss. Then he should get a rematch with Fish of MSU (1-2 against but beat at Big Ten) or Thompson of Ohio. Both are winnable matches but I'd rather see Thompson probably despite his higher seed. Ruth got the 3 seed and the best possible draw he could ever hope for. The top-3 guys are all on the other side of the bracket. He should be in position to make the finals.
