At a loss for words how bad this offense is. And are they ever getting their asses kicked by division teams. You have to start to wonder about a lot of the guys who figured to be cornerstones to build around for the future.

Lot of well hit balls died on the warning track with the wind blowing in. Great pitching and defense from both sides. Cards scratched across 3 runs to win it. On to tomorrow. Nobody in this division wants to get it together other than the Brewers.

Still gotta love the Cubs. Win or lose- going to a cubs game is a blast. Nothing like relaxing and forgetting your problems for a few hours.

Take me out to the ball game… if the cubs don’t win it’s a shame…

why did counsell pinch hit wisdom who is batting under 200 when he had bote available who is batting over 300? hit one to the warning track but still a questionable decision IMO. ugh another series loss. what is that, 9 of last 10 series lost? only win is 2 game series against sox

I'm obviously not a Cubs fan but doesn't Wisdom have a bit more power than Bote? I'd have to imagine that was Counsell's thinking. Plus with how close Wisdom came to hitting it out Friday, had it not been for the wind, I can see why Counsell would have him pinch hit for Amaya.

The last 3 or 4 game series the Cubs won was May 10-12 in Pittsburgh when they took 2 out of 3. The last such home series they won May 3-5 vs. the Brewers, when they also took 2 out of 3.

In my eyes, a bad time at the ballpark beats a good time in many other places.

Hope you enjoy!!
The stadium was actually better than I thought it was going to be, at least the playing field portion of it. It kind of reminds me of Wrigley before they did the updates. The concourses are pretty narrow, unless you go on the "outside" ring where there are a bunch of food options. There were probably 10x more Cubs fans than Rays fans.

Since we were hanging with longtime friends, it was a good time in spite of the outcome.

Not sure what happened tonight, saw they were up 6-4 going into the 9th and lost 7-6. This is going from ridiculous to sublime. Stick a fork in this turd.
yep neris gave up a 3 run jack. can't keep running him out there. blown save what now, 16? wesneski also seems to give up a homer every time he comes in too

Another Neris blown save. Time for a lot of those bullpen guys to go, including him.

Based on the box score, he had 4 walks. Not acceptable for a guy pitching 1-2 innings.

Why? He has experience (5 shy of 100 career saves) and, compared to most of our bullpen, has a decent ERA this year. He's only given up 3 ER in his last 15 innings (1.80 ERA).

It is his control (too many walks) that has been an issue so far, but I'd prefer that to the long ball that has plagued most of our relievers.
This is why.

Can anyone explain why Alexander Canario can't get at bats? All he does is rake at AAA. He's got some real pop.
