Conference championships completely lose relevance. A two-loss SEC, B1G, or ACC team gets in. Dilutes the field.
College football isn't March Madness.

Meaningless husk zombified bowl "brands" being repurposed into cold, antiseptic NFL palaces played on weekday evenings in December as far as the eye can see.so the top 4 get byes, and 5-12 play the first weekend. presumably two games on Friday night and two on Sat two weekends in a row
Has the calendar of how this gets played been released ?
it adds two weeks to the deal, and I wonder how this plays out
This needed to happen I’d gladly leave a big ten championship game in the bag if we could rip on campus December football. I’m salivatingI don't know, I think playoff games on campuses is gonna be incredibly dope.
did the DIA save that inflatable dome from the 1980's-1990's so we can use it again if ever needed in a December playoff game we might host ?This needed to happen I’d gladly leave a big ten championship game in the bag if we could rip on campus December football. I’m salivating
It's all about the money.
No, it’s gonna be Dec/Jan Madness.College football isn't March Madness.
I was wondering how 12 team tournament would work...get it now...so the top 4 get byes, and 5-12 play the first weekend. presumably two games on Friday night and two on Sat two weekends in a row

ALL historical bowl games will get wrapped into the games that get played over the second and third weekends of 6 gamesYep, suspect this is still early days for expansion, as need for more and more $ proves irresistible.
16 seems easy to foresee down the road when tv contracts are up for negotiation/need to grow the pot.
Wouldn't be surprised if it gets to 32 at some point down the road, played over the months of December and January, with bowl games being a completely historical relic.
They’ll never be outside the top 4Imagine Saban’s boys finally gotta play a game north of the Mason-Dixon lmao. Champaign in December can be cold cold cold
Preach my brother... Byes SUCK!I've said it many, many, many times. Go to 16. That's 2 more games to broadcast (cha-ching) and protected seeds are BS.
Most years of the four team format have resulted in a non-competitve 1 vs 4 game. Conclusion; there aren't four teams on the same level of competitiveness.
Why does anyone think there are 12 competitive teams? That is overtly ridiculous. This is a money grab, and it hurts athletes.
I assume fans of this format are also huge supporters of LIV golf, and the futbol Superleague, given they're all driven by the same ethos.
Eh... By that logic March Madness should only be 32 teams because no team seeded higher than 8 has ever won. Most years of the four team format have resulted in a non-competitve 1 vs 4 game. Conclusion; there aren't four teams on the same level of competitiveness.
