Brad Underwood contract extended through 2027-28 season

Seems to be more of a revision to his existing contract than an extension. Nonetheless, happy to close the doors on the speculation even if they simmered down.

"Underwood's proposed contract calls for an annual $300,000 increase in base compensation and a $200,000 increase in the annual retention bonus. It is fully guaranteed through the next four seasons, with Underwood's buyout – what he would owe the University to accept employment elsewhere – increasing as well”

The Year was 2017...

Brad Underwood: "I dream big... And I dream bigger. And winning a national championship is something that can happen here," he said. "And I want to be a part of that and I want to help lead this program to that. And when your director of athletics has that same vision, that was important to me."

Brad Underwood: “Good things happen to those who work hard. I live by that and stay with my nose to the grindstone and know someday that your opportunity will come."

He called Illinois a "dream job.".

"This is it," Underwood said with a nod.

Looking good past 3 years. Our last BT title was 2005-6. Getting to sweet 16 consistently is next step.
