Could Brad Stevens actually be shown the door this year? Would it be too late for us?

He's doing a very good job with Boston. They did almost a complete rebuild with that team. They got rid of Pierce, Garnett and Rondo.

I spent time on the internet reading every article about Keatts. I was impressed with all the positive things other coaches had to say about him. Than I saw an article about how the Mizzuo fan base is really interested in him.

If Mizzou and Illinois go after the same target, Mizzou will be the sad one at the end of the day.

In what world is Marshall not 'no-chance', but Archie Miller is?

This world. Unlike most people who comment on here. Marshall is going to realize sooner or later that he can't assemble a team in the MVC like he did two years ago. And the competition in the conference is getting worse, unlike Archie at Dayton, where the A-10 is a much better conference, imo, and he is thinking he can still take them to newer heights.

There's just absolutely no way Bennett leaves UVA for Illinois...he is in such a better position at UVA. He was just a 1 seed...they are ranked in the top 10, he's in the ACC. I mean what is more appealing about the mess that Illinois is right now?

Keatts is considered a top of the line recruiter. Just for fun, can anyone guess who 247 ranks as Keatts all time best recruit he brought in? Hint: The S at the end of Illinois is silent. Talk about full circle.

Just looking at the RPI, I am struck by the fact that Groce's dismissal may not be as certain as I once thought.

We fans and advanced analytics both have been underwhelmed by the Illini getting pounded so often. Thing is RPI doesn't account for margin of losses. This is likely the last year the NCAA committee relies so heavily on the RPI and it may just save Groce's skin.

The push is on for advanced metric to weigh more heavily in the tourney selection process but it won't be this year.

So while Illinois is 72 on Sagarin and 70 on Pomeroy, they are 49th on RPI.

So while I don't think this team will ultimately make the tourney, I got way ahead of myself due to the repeated blowout losses.
