I could be wrong but I believe the seeding for the match play is based on the results of the 72 holes of stroke. I don't think rankings come into play in the Championship portion.

Piercen is really struggling this year. His average is a almost a full stroke behind the next highest on the team. He would have to really show in qualifying to get that spot because his game certainly hasn't been there at least in matches this year.

I'm sure that 5th spot is up for grabs, Ethan took some solid steps but certainly it will be a battle down the stretch here.
