Illini Unable to Finish Against Badgers
January 21, 2007 9:21 AM
The best effort of the season put the Illini in position to upset the #2 Wisconsin Badgers Saturday afternoon at a pulsating Assembly Hall. Up 60-57 with 5:00 to go, Illinois could muster but 1 basket the rest of the contest. The inability to effectively run any type of offense down the stretch doomed the Illini, which fell 71-64. Shaun Pruitt was unstoppable down low with 19 points and 14 rebounds. The loss drops Illinois to 2-4 in conference. Up next is an absolute must-win at home Tuesday night against the Hoosiers. Recap.
