Opening with a Thud

Coach Weber is baffled. The fans are exasperated. Questions continue to mount about the Illini's
ability to show leadership, enthusiasm, and perform clutch play in the face of adversity.
In Michigan's 71-61 victory over Illinois last night in the Big Ten opener, it was
a 13-0 Wolverine run midway thru the 2nd half that sealed the game. For 5 minutes the Illini
failed to score a point, and could not recover in the final minutes.
After losing 11 straight to Illinois, coach Tommy Amaker and Michigan have a 2-game winning streak against the Illini.
