Iowa Takes Advantage of Illini Mistakes in Juice's First Start
September 24, 2006 12:29 PM
In the Big Ten opener for both schools, Illinois and Iowa battled evenly until a disastrous 4-minute sequence late in the 2nd quarter put the Hawkeyes in control. Poor field position, a botched rugby style punt, and an interception allowed Iowa to take a 21-0 lead into halftime, and hold on for a 24-7 victory. In his first collegiate start, Juice Williams was 9-32 for 161 yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs.
