Michigan State Spartans
February 1, 2005 12:09 AM
Remember the last time Illinois ventured into the Breslin Center circa 2003? The Illini jumped out to a big lead, Brian Cook was unstoppable, then the Spartans hit a half-court shot at the halftime buzzer (which probably should not have counted) and UI's big lead wasn't so big anymore. Long story short, Cook barely played in the 2nd half due to foul issues and MSU and the Izzone celebrated a 3-point win.
As Illinois prepares to face the "white-out" onslaught at Breslin tonight, what lesson can we learn from the 2003 contest? Answer (in two parts)A) nothing, because the past has no effect upon future events, and B) the biggest college basketball game to date doesn't have the might to lift the Winter X-Games from the 9pm EST Prime Time TV slot on ESPN, so escape from school or work early!
