NIAA (Nevada's IHSA) did the same thing last week. Sounds like collusion...Illinois IHSA moves high school football to the spring, season will start sometime around Feb. 15th.
FWIW, my youngest just got done with 6 weeks of summer practice (where they were temp scanned every day, and wore masks), but now our coaches have no idea how to proceed with conditioning/practice from Aug-Feb in prep for the start of games in Feb. Our NIAA ruling seems to suggest formal practice get deferred until a week or two before games start. Right! No increase in injury potential from that approach! Plus, I doubt anyone weighed the odds of the kids getting pneumonia in Feb (esp being out of condition) vs the odds of kids getting covid. BTW, no one asked the parents or coaches.
