Was looking at Brooks' PFF grades compared to Nicholson's to see the differences. In many ways they are polar opposites - Tahveon is much better in coverage but had a horrendous year in tackling (factors related to his broken forearm?). His tackling was abysmal in the middle of the year but...

The theme here isn't Walters, it's Purdue. Illinois is 6-18 against Purdue since the end of the 1993 season. This is also why it's frustrating when folks on here make season predictions and 90% of them are calling the game a win.

To have the WR desert between the Dudek injuries/AJ Jenkins meteoric rise to until IW11 switched to WR, it's amazing how much the WR recruiting has changed. Kudos to George McDonald helping right the ship as well. Just gotta find a way to transfer some of this magic to the D-line recruiting...

Now that the staff is full again, I would argue the only change I would want to make based on the new staff would be to bring to reverse the Buh decision. The rest, with the expectation that Bullen was only going to be here for a short period of time, seem like positive changes.

It's scary because Illinois football is a "have not" in the scheme of the top-40 programs. If Illinois football had an extra $15 million annually to pump into their program and the narrative was curtailing those expenses across the system, we would be [rightly] going bonkers.

On its own, I love this hire. I think Parker is a strong up-and-comer. The question is why Bielema wanted experience this fall but doesn't now.

This might be too strong of a statement on this board but Illinois could wipe every dollar from the basketball program, give it to football, and it still wouldn't be enough to achieve that type of status for football.

Turned River Rouge (MI) into an awesome program, was at Toledo the past two years. A little more unconventional than I expected. The big surprise to me was that Gibbs was heralded for his experience with a young group of defensive assistants. Now that Buh is gone and Gibbs left before the first...

    (1) The NBA spends lavishly on auxiliary initiatives - such as NBA Africa and similar programs, production, lobbying, non-season programming, and community initiatives. NBA teams also invest plenty of funds in private practice facilities, extended travel, nutrition, etc. that are either the same...
