How many times have we heard the cliché that teams that are not fundamentally sound have poor coaching. Clichés are clichés because they are usually true. The Cubs are a fundamentally unsound team.
Glad they won yesterday but three errors and Horner was out by a mile at home and the catcher dropped the ball. The fielding and base running has not been good. They aren’t a fundamentally sound team at this point.
Other than watching Payton run, those late 70's Bear offenses were brutal. For kicks I looked up Avellini's stats-he actually led the league in game winning drives with 4 in 1977. Probably a lot of handoffs to Payton.
